Ron's Journal:
Week 40

Sunday, February 25, 2006
Called Dr. Simmons to discuss changes on the web page.

Monday, February 26, 2006
Went to the chiropractors and basically did nothing, my back still bothers me, not as much. I am going to start doing walking with out a load to see what happens. Got an email from Congressmen’s office saying they are looking over our plan then will get in touch with us.

Tuesday, February 27, 2006
We set the date for our first meeting, March 28, now to figure out the time and place.

Wednesday, February 28, 2006
Today is my Grand Daughters Birthday, she is three. How many Parents and Grandparents celebrated the birth of their loved ones seeing potential and promise for their future, only to get to the future and wonder what went wrong for those children that sacrificed theirs lives and emotional lives for our futures?

Got a new car (new to me) for the truck died and I will need something if I have to drive up to Maine then down to Virginia to get back on the trail. Also called and talked to people on the board of the Mental Health Association to see if they would at least endorse what we are doing, so I sent them a copy minutes ago for them to look at.

Thursday, March 1, 2006
Got an email from Tom Ronayne giving me the contact information for the legislators who might be able to help me with funding and the mailing. Talked to Rick who does a fund raiser by rowing around Long Island who supports this and will be at our meeting to work on ideas to create more awareness.

Went to the gym to gain my strength back and keep my wind up, on the way out I meet Guy who lived down the block from us when we grew up. He apologized to me for my sister; on the first day of school he said that he cut in front of her to get on the bus first. He said he was afraid my brother or I were going to beat him up. He said he is reminded of it every time they show home movies and asked me to talk to my sister, I said I would and that I may still have to beat him up after I talk to my sister (just kidding). Every time I see a homeless person or hear a story about some family that has someone in the military I am reminded that I had done nothing, what was I afraid of, how do I make my apology?

Friday, March 2, 2006
Called the legislators, they were helpful and supportive, they may help with the mailing and said if we had a bill they would review it to be signed.

Saturday, March 3, 2006
I called Max’s people and McDermott’s people to find out the best way to proceed with getting a bill passed or if there was another way I could be of more use.
